Game on AppleCon!

A Day of 2E AD&D

February 17th 2019 we filled The Coffee Joint in Cornish Maine to roll some dice and have some adventures. The coffee and tea were hot and the gaming was epic!

I originally put together this event to see if I could come up with 3 or 4 AD&D second edition gamers to have a little fun. I needed a break from 5E and found opening the old 2E books inspiring. We didn’t expect over 20 responses and the need to call in extra DM help! What resulted was a very pleasant surprise and fun activity in the dead of winter that will continue indefinitely.

Jeff Provost ran a game and I ran one while our hosts provide fun food and drinks and even popcorn while we filled the air with high adventure.

The Adventure!

At my table the heroes awoke finding themselves trapped amid the Goblin Hordes in the Goblin Cliffs. All memory and thoughts were very fuzzy memories. They fought their way out of the cell to be confronted by their captor. A wicked Shamanak with the power to blank out memory had plans for them. If they didn’t find their way out, they’d become DINNER!

They distracted a gelatinous cube, shoved an ogre diplomat off the cliffs and escaped to freedom. At the end, they freed 8 peasants and made their way to Lorview for some well deserved rest. Where will the heroes go next? You’ll have to come join the AppleCon Gaming Guild on March 17th to find out!
