Welcome to Our Town
October 2-4 in Cornish Maine Fail Squad Games is proud to host AppleCon 2. The first ever tabletop gaming convention in our southern Maine community.
The Inn at Cornish on Main Street has provided us with full access to the entire space for our event. The Inn is a 200+ year old Victorian inn with a real warmth and friendly faces. We can’t wait for you to join us at AppleCon 2.
Why AppleCon?
We chose the name because we are leading the charge into apple season here in Maine the first weekend of October. The weekend preceding AppleCon 2 is Cornish’s AppleFest. All the orchards are open for fall apple picking, hot cider, fudge, music and activities for both weekends and beyond. Cornish is an idyllic Maine town with vibrant foliage, plenty of antique stores, restaurants, and a hometown “New England feel”. We are about 45 minutes inland of Portland and about as far from the White Mountains of New Hampshire. From here you can find whale watches at the coast or scenic narrow-gauge railroad tours up the white mountains.
After you are done hunting goblins, dragons, and saving the world, you will have plenty of rivers, lakes, foliage, and shops to take in locally. Maine has world famous lobster and seafood and there are plenty of places to find it fresh around here in abundance.
Main Street in Cornish has been revitalized and reborn with many small businesses. Restaurants, antique stores, crafters, music stores, coffee stores and more have found their homes in historical buildings that were literally moved to the valley from the surrounding hills by oxen in the town’s long history. This is our hometown, and we are waiting to show you around.
